Background
Edmundson Electrical is one of the UK’s largest electrical wholesalers with an annual turnover in excess of £1.8 billion; they also own other well-known brands in the electrical wholesale supply chain including Electric Center, Lockwell, GA Nicolas and SLD Lighting.
We were first asked by their Head of Training & Development to make a film to highlight their recruitment opportunities: from Apprentice to Graduate roles. From the success of this first film, Edmundson recognised the potential that our expertly crafted media assets brought the business and we have now become their preferred media supplier. Picture Lock Films, makes all their video & info-graphic content for both internal and external use. To date, we have supplied in excess 30 films to help them build their recruitment website, supplied multiple conference films and promotional films to highlight their specialist supply divisions, provided pension explainers and we are currently engaged in making bespoke Training and Development content for their Learning Management System (LMS).
Creative
In the last two years, Edmundson has invested in their own LMS for training and development to bring a more uniformed training experience for new joiners as well as their existing 4,000 strong workforce which is spread across their multiple trading sites in both the UK and Eire. While an ‘off-the-shelf’ LMS can provide everyday training needs such as GDPR, Anti bribery etc, Edmundson were looking to populate their LMS with more bespoke content for their teams and managers. A large part of the content we have created involves us working closely with their H&S Team to create a series of ‘info-graphic’ style animations which show how to operate machinery and work safely in accordance with their own protocols. The info-graphics have covered more of the high-risk activities of the business where there is a higher chance of an incident or accident occurring in the workplace.
We have produced content that highlights risks in their work place which covers: the safe loading and unloading of vehicles, cable handling and cable management as well as safe use of equipment in the work place.
